Essie Weingarten began her career in Las Vegas 1981. She presented 12 different colors that for the time was very unconventional, including Blanc, Bordeaux and Baby's Breath - all of whom are still in the range today. The year after Essie became internationally known and went on sale in Japan. Then sales began to spread to England and France. It wasn't until 2012 Essie got to be a globally known brand with sales worldwide.
Essie was still a success early on for individuals as well as for celebrities and even royals. First time Essie was recognized by a celebrity was in 1983 by Joan Rivers who used Essie Jelly Apple on TV. She's far from the only celebrity who used Essie nail polish though. We all remember Lady Gaga's meat dress at an American Music gala in 2010, she styled the dress with Essie - Merino Cool.
Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton used Essie - Allure on her wedding day when she married Prince William of England in 2011. Even the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth uses Essie but the more discreet color Ballet Slippers.
It's founder herself, who named the nail polish. She wants them to be fun and have its own personal touch. She's also been careful and demanding that the polishes shouldn't contain any hazardous ingredients but maintain high quality and durability.
Essie has won many prestigious awards for their nail polish and its wide range of colors, 250 to be exact. They've won Allure's first prize of "best of beauty awards" for their colors. Since then they've won several awards from InStyle, Redbook, Women's Healthy & Fitness Magazine, Cosmo Girl and more.
2013 was Essie - Bikini so Teeny the best-selling nail polish ever - and you can buy it here at NiceBeauty! You'll also find several other colors, base- and topcoats and oils to nourish the nail and cuticles.
